Socialized Medicine = More Jobs

I had this thought while engaged in a really great conversation with a dear friend last night: If we had a socialized, government sponsored, single payer health care system, it would lead to many many new jobs across the board. Now I know many of you conservagays might get all in a hissy about this, but hear me out.

Socialized medicine = employers not having to pay for health care = lower labor costs = less expensive American made goods = more American goods being purchased worldwide = more demand for production = more fucking American jobs!

I mean, is my logic not sound? It seems to make sense to me.

Sure, there is the argument that people couldn't buy more goods because they would be paying higher taxes, but they certainly wouldn't be paying more in those taxes than they already do now for their insurance premiums every month, in fact they'll probably pay MUCH less.

It was just a thought.

Tonight is the night Tito and I start our little domestic adventure! I am very excited. Not only because we'll be staying together nearly every night (except Christmas Eve) for the next two and a half weeks, but also because of the crazy monkey sex that we will undoubtedly have. RIP Chancellor

I just received the news the Oral Roberts has passed away. He was 91. This may come as a surprise to many of you, but for various reasons, about 10 years ago, when I was a senior in high school, I decided to attend Oral Roberts University. I have come a long way since then. And although I fiercely disagree with their politics, their practices, much of their methodology, and most of their theology, the four years I spent there gave me some of the greatest memories of my life. Those memories wouldn't exist if it weren't for Oral Roberts. Say what you want about the man, and even though I disagree with him on pretty much everything, Oral has held a special place in my heart. I am finding myself (albeit unexpectedly) deeply saddened at the news of his passing.

Rest in peace Chancellor Roberts.

Adventures in Housesitting

So Ronny and I will be housesitting the last two weeks of December.
It's going to give us the opportunity to have a trial run living
together as well as have sex in new and different locations. We'll let
you know our impressions as they happen through the blog (especially
as I'm off work! Thank you university system!). It will also be
amusing as one of our readers owns said house and I think he and his
mister would get a kick out of knowing what's going on there so they
know where to hold the blacklight.

Make sure you guys check out Bill in Exile. Scott is the author over there, and although he may not know it, is mainly responsible for inspiring me to create this thing with Tito. As much as I try to emulate his blog (while trying, of course, to keep it our own), he is a much more eloquent and skilled blogger than I. I feel like I'm getting better, and I hope you guys have seen improvement as well.

Now, I've been a reader of Scott's for a couple of years now, and he never fails to entertain and educate me. The only way I know to thank him, is to do this and send him MAYBE a new reader or two, although I have a feeling that many of our hits are a direct result of people clicking through to us from there. :)

Dear Connecticut,

Please get rid of Joe LIEberman and replace him with a progressive Senator. I expect the Republicans to be against health care reform REGARDLESS of it's content, but not a senator who caucuses with Democrats, yet seems to oppose every democratic idea. Only a couple of months ago he SUPPORTED and even claimed credit for a proposal to allow a medicare buy-in. Then last week he said he would have to see what the CBO said it would cost. Now that it is WIDELY expected the CBO is going to give a big stamp of approval to the medicare buy-in as a great way to increase not only medicare's long term solvency, but cover more Americans, the good ole' Senator has decided that he's going to be against it anyway, and will filibuster with the repubs so IT CAN'T EVEN COME TO A VOTE!

He's a fucking liar who doesn't seem to care about his country or it's citizens. In fact, the Connecticut for Lieberman Party wants him to support HC Reform WITH a public option.

So who is LIEberman representing? Hmmmm? I wonder...
